Our Advent Calendar
Friday, December 2, 2011 I made up a fun activity Advent Calendar for the boys this year.

(we haven’t gotten our other Christmas decorations out yet)
I just printed up the circles + numbers using Robyn’s Vintage Label and Vintage Holiday elements punched them out and stuck them on a paper bag. The clips are from Ikea (I found them in the laundry room).

I’ve only filled the first couple bags so far, but they each have a little tag with an activity for us to do. Even though it seems so simple to me the boys loved it and were very excited to go get our tree. We would have done it anyway but it seemed even more special to them.

If I’m not sure what the day will bring I’ll stick in a small treat, chapstick, eraser or something. They also have their Lego advent calendars.

This is such a fun idea, Allison! Simple and festive. Love it!
Such a great concept and one with a virtually unlimited number of ways the days could be filled and enjoyed.
I love this! We just got a chocolate advent calendar - but I'd love to actually go out and do things Christmas-y like this!
What a lovely simple idea. I love the element of surprise and translating things into activities to do together rather than getting something to eat etc. This is a great idea - thanks for sharing it, I'm going to pin it straight away!
I LOVE how these are hung! I purchased this lovely DIY one from etsy today! I like that its a little more jesusy. AND its so pretty. But I will def be using your idea in how to hang it!
